Marla Katz, M.A.

Marla is a Psychological Assistant working under the supervision of Dr. Lesli Preuss. She is a doctoral candidate in Psychodynamic Child Psychology and Psychotherapy at The Reiss-Davis Graduate School. She received her MA in Clinical Psychology, Child Studies Specialization from Antioch University and her BA from the University of Southern California. Marla is an educational consultant, lecturer and college professor. She has training and experience in a wide variety of treatment modalities, and works to tailor her therapeutic approach to the unique needs of each client as she is committed to ongoing growth and development. She has experience in private practice, community mental health, in-home, and school-based settings. She has extensive experience working with children, teens, adults, families, and couples. Her specialty is working with ADHD, 2E, NVLD,  and neuro-developmental disorders. Marla supports clients in addressing concerns and transitions in relationships and family life, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, among other issues. Marla facilitates parenting groups, social skills groups, and play groups. Her current research focuses in areas of development, attachment, trauma, and neuroscience. Marla has an ability to communicate complex topics with clarity and humor and provides a personalized, empathic and non-judgmental approach.
